Governmental Greening

"Water and Environmental Affairs Minister Edna Molewa told delegates at  the pre-conference of parties summit in Durban that everyone needs to go green and save the country from a natural disaster."
http://www.eyewitnessnews.co.za/Story.aspx?Id=74713

This is perhaps one of the most dramatic statements from Government yet on the need to go Green.

And it is not just about Greening the Planet.

When Sustainability is insufficient, Harmony degrades ... and a Violent Society is the Result!

The Bare Rock Of Everest

The idea that Everest could become bare rock without ice is mind boggling!

Yet, the momentum gathered over time can become unstoppable!

After all mountains and valleys erode, continents move closer or further apart.

It is just a matter of time ... and Time has an Eternity of It!

A mere millimetric rise of mean sea level per week is a metre in twenty years!

The Jompy

GreenIt! is currently in dialogue with the African distributor of this incredible device as part of the GreenIt! Ukuvuya Kit.

Allied to the Hot Box that GreenIt! supplies, the same but smaller fire can purify water and also prepare food.

The food is brought to boiling point and then put away in the Hot Box where it will cook for hours, safely and without burning.

Even with a lesser fire necessary, water will dtill have been purified via the Jompy.

As Schumacker promoted in the Age Before Green, "Small is beautiful!"

In other words appropriate technology ...

The combination of Hot Box and Jompy can therefore not only reduce the amount of firewood needed but also promote health, safety and convenience.

With the Hippo Water Roller alongside these two items, the resultant Triad is an outstanding combination of appropriate technology!

The Hippo Water Roller

GreenIt! has made contact with the supplier of the Hippo Water Roller for inclusion of this magnificent device in the GreenIt! Ukuvuya Kit.

http://www.hipporoller.org/

Along with the Hot Box and the Jompy, water can be collected from distance, rolled home, where a smal fire can then perform boh cooking and water
purification!

This means that rural communities without water directly distributed to them can not only collect the water far easier but also ensure that it is purified.

In the Ukuvuya Kit line up the Hippo Water Roller would perform a strategic empowerment role.

Earthworm Al

http://www.earthwormal.co.za/

GreenIt! seeks to avoid reinventing any wheels and strives to provide an integrated channel for AID.

Via the Ukuvuya Kit it unifies products and services that would otherwise be disparate and acting without synergy.

The use of vermiculture to generate nutrition for household vegetable gardens was and remains a no brainer.

Vermicompost will grow food in beach sand ... well almost!

We came across Earthworm Al a year or so back and had some initial dialogue with using their products and services.

Since then they have produced this delightful web site ...

Green Dignity

As bizarre as this may seem this supplier addresses one of the sources of major stress on both the household and the environment.

http://www.mpowercup.co.za/

Glenda Tutt walked into our offices one day off the street and introduced us to this product.

The savings in cost for the impoverished households and the reduction of stress in municipal sanitation systems is extraordinary!

Responsible Living

We came across these amazing people by sheer chance.

http://www.smilingonehome.blogspot.com/

GreenIt! sees Green as Sustainability in all its forms.

Without Harmony there can be no long-lived Sustainability.

To achieve Sustainability we need a holistic/synergistic formula - for example, life sustaining food gardens will not flourish amongst broken people
will no hope.

Georeality, the Founder of GreenIt! is busy assisting SmilingOne with an operational database to help it in the delivery of its services.
