The Fawn
There it was, standing perfectly still
A beautiful young fawn with its little nose up in the air
A small cottonball tail, earth-colored fur with white
little fluffs on its back,
Big brown doe-eyes searching for food on this cold Thursday morn’.
Yet, it was upon the lawn of a house in the metropolis,the city
Out of its natural environment. . . down from the mountains.
Proof that even the creatures do what they must for survival.
If only I had something to give it to eat,
Gentle young fawn, you’re so beautiful to see
A reminder that Mother Earth does not just belong to humans, to me.
O’ little fawn, you are so dainty, so precious
Thank you for making my day special, and wonderful.
With a lost look in your eyes, I hope you live on and
find your way back home. Find your way home little fawn.
